At approximately 4:15 p.m. on Sunday, March 5, members of the Fredericksburg Police Department received a report of shots fired near the Express Food Mart on Fall Hill Avenue, officials said.

Upon arrival, they found one man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers were able to render aid at the scene until paramedics arrived to rush him to an area hospital, where he was listed as alive and in stable condition on Monday, March 6.

Police say that at the same time, a man called 911 in Fredericksburg and advised that he had shot a known person outside his Ivanhoe Court home after he was allegedly attacked with a knife.

Patrol officers went to the home, officials said, secured the weapon used in the second shooting, and interviewed the shooter and other witnesses.

The IDs of both victims and shooters has not been released by the police.

Both incidents remain under investigation.
